Due to a recent development in the South Island, our client, an established mining company in both New Zealand and Australia is looking for an experienced Opencast/Surface Mine Manager to lead their opencast mine.
As the Mine Manager you’ll be accountable for all mining operations and results for the opencast mine. You will prioritise safety and environmental values while managing a dedicated professional team and directing a contract miner to achieve safe and efficient extraction of coal. With a major component of the business revolving around exporting to various niche markets, you will be an excellent communicator with solid relation management skills with which to build relationships with the mining contractor, coal processing, logistics and sales teams.
You will require a technical tertiary background with a Mine Managers Certificate, extensive industry experience and the long term outlook to develop and grow the business. Reporting into the General Manager your key accountabilities will be technical outputs, OHS performance, overall scheduling, and people management, delivering progressive outcomes through developing key relationships.
