The construction industry is one of Australia’s strongest economic drivers while in New Zealand it continues to improve thanks to a steady volume of work. In response, the construction jobs market is active, providing good opportunities for ambitious individuals to advance their careers.

But what path should you take to the top job of Construction Manager? What experience and qualities will Construction Managers of the future need to have? What is a day in the life of a Construction Manager like? To answer these questions we surveyed over 950 construction professionals and held 21 in-depth interviews with industry leaders to provide insights and share a typical day in the life of their role. In this report we present our findings on what you can do to ensure you’re paving your own road to Construction Manager.
