About the company + role

This company is a leading door manufacturing company that delivers wooden veneer products throughout New Zealand . They need someone who can eventually lead a small team of 3. This role is 95% hands-on. You will be working with machinery to cut and measure timber to very fine detail.

About the role

• Oversee and participate in daily production activities
• Ensure the highest quality standards by maintaining a keen eye for detail
• Exercise leadership skills to guide and support the production team
• Plan and organise your own daily and weekly tasks efficiently
• There is some travel to grade/select & purchase timber around the South Island area
• Hours: 6am - 2:30 Monday to Friday

What you'll need to succeed

• Mechanical mindset
• Ideally, have an apprenticeship with a carpentry qualification or joinery qualification as this is a very skilled position
• Genuine interest in wood and wood manufacturing processes. Able to identify grade timber
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer skills, emails and excel
