Electrician Needed for Maintenance Project in Antarctica
Location: McMurdo Station, Antarctica
Duration: October to Feb

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and adventurous Electrician to join our maintenance team at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. This unique opportunity involves working in one of the most remote and challenging environments on Earth, ensuring the electrical systems are maintained and operational in the harsh Antarctic climate.
Location: McMurdo Station, Antarctica (approximately 1000 residents in summer season). Rate: $50 per hour (WAGES) $60 per hour (CONTRACTING) Two intakes available - choose one or stay for both
  • Intake 1: October 2025 - Feb 2026
  • Intake 2: Feb 2026 - October 2026


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues promptly.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other team members to support station operations.

Requirements:
  • National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (EWRB Practising License).
  • Open work rights in New Zealand.
  • Ability to pass medical, dental and background checks
