IKEA’s Remote Customer Meeting Point (RCMP) connects you with expert support for shopping, planning, and purchasing. Whether it’s designing a kitchen, wardrobe, or your entire home or business, IKEA’s RCMP team delivers a convenient, personalised experience via video, phone, or email. We’re excited to announce the opening for an IKEA Sales Leader to join our Remote Customer Meeting Point team. As an IKEA Sales Team Leader you are or have:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience leading a team is an essential requirement of this role.
  • Experience within retail, e-commerce, or home furnishing environments are highly desirable but not essential.
  • Proven ability to manage 12–16 direct reports, delivering structured coaching, performance feedback, and data-informed reporting.
  • Strong commercial mindset and a passion for selling, with the ability to coach and energise others to achieve sales goals.
  • While this role shares many aspects with a traditional contact centre position, this role prioritises leadership, sales and commerciality over previous contact centre experience.
  • Confidence in presenting and communicating with senior stakeholders, both in New Zealand and across global IKEA networks.
  • Strong knowledge of how to motivate and empower the wider team individually as well as to create togetherness within teams.
  • Deep understanding of the leadership styles needed to balance different needs among Co-workers.
  • Good knowledge of change management and understanding of key factors for a successful change initiative.
  • Passion for leading others and energised by developing and challenging people to reach set individual goals that trigger motivation and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills combined with ability to practise inspirational IKEA leadership for co-workers with different competences and needs.
  • Comfortable with assessing and improving quality and consistency, ensuring high standards in team delivery.


What you need to know

  • This role is permanent.
  • Work locations will vary between the external warehouse in Māngere and office near the Sylvia Park Store.
  • As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts based on trading hours. You also must have the availability to work alternating weekend shifts.
  • The internal title for this role is Remote Team Leader (Selling).
  • The expected start date for this role is ASAP.
  • The first step of the recruitment process will be an application form. If you are successful to the next step, you will be notified via email and be invited to complete an online test.
  • Training will involve travelling to Australia; therefore it is essential you have a valid passport and are able to travel abroad for 1-2 weeks.
  • IKEA Sylvia Park is non-smoking workplace.
  • Car parking will not be provided at Sylvia Park therefore IKEA encourages all co-workers to utilise public transport whenever possible.
