My client is a recognised global company seeking a dynamic, hands-on People & Safety Partner to join their South Auckland team. This role sits within a blue-collar organisation, where you’ll work closely with the HR Manager, supporting all aspects of generalist HR while leading health and safety systems and driving a safety-first culture.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to leaders and frontline staff, building strong relationships and providing pragmatic HR support
  • Supporting the HR Manager with generalist HR activities including employee relations, performance management and workforce planning
  • Driving engagement initiatives and contributing to a positive workplace culture
  • Supporting with recruitment and onboarding
  • Manage and continuously improve H&S systems, processes and reporting
  • Promoting and embedding a safety-first culture across all levels of the organisation
  • Partnering with operational leaders to ensure H&S compliance and risk mitigation
  • Leading incident investigations and ensuring corrective actions are implemented
  • Coordinate training and development related to safety and wellbeing.
  • Supporting with recruitment and onboarding

  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role within a blue-collar or industrial environment.
  • Solid understanding of NZ employment law and H&S regulations.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a down-to-earth, approachable style.
  • A proactive attitude and will take ownership and drive outcomes.
  • Energy, resilience, and adaptability with a good sense of humour.
