We are working with a well-established boutique law firm in Christchurch, looking to bring on an experienced Trust Account Administrator. The team operates in a flat structure where collaboration and mutual respect are key. It’s a close-knit group that values professionalism, warmth, and genuine teamwork.

The firm is now looking to appoint a Trust Accounts Administrator , either straight into a permanent position or via a temp-to-perm arrangement.

About the Role

Reporting directly to one of the partners and working closely alongside the leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the firm’s trust account operations in full compliance and be the go-to person for all trust-related matters, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and smooth day-to-day financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily trust account transactions including receipts, payments, and transfers
  • Perform regular reconciliations and prepare monthly certifications for NZ Law Society
  • Maintain accurate trust ledgers and records in line with regulatory standards
  • Process fee withdrawals and ensure proper invoicing
  • Stay up to date with trust accounting regulations and AML/CFT obligations
  • Use Affinity software for all trust account processing

What We’re Looking For

  • Prior experience working in a law firm trust account role is essential.
  • Strong understanding of NZ trust account compliance and reporting
  • Proficiency in Affinity or similar legal accounting software
  • High attention to detail, reliability, and a collaborative mindset
  • Someone who enjoys being part of a small, friendly team and values open communication

Role Details

  • Location: Christchurch
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm (in-office)
  • Start: ASAP preferred
  • Type: Permanent or Temp-to-Perm
  • Salary: Based on candidate expectations and experience
