A leading international organisation is seeking an experienced Category Specialist to join its procurement team in Auckland. This is a high-impact role where you’ll lead strategic sourcing and category management across a diverse portfolio, delivering commercial value and operational excellence.

• Develop and execute category strategies aligned with global procurement objectives.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including tendering, contracting, supplier evaluation, and negotiation.
• Drive cost savings, compliance, and business efficiency across assigned categories.
• Act as the key interface between business lines, shared services, vendors, and global category teams.
• Analyse market intelligence and supplier performance to inform strategic decisions.
• Ensure contract administration, catalogue management, and ERP alignment.
• Promote best practice procurement processes and continuous improvement.

Ngā uara me ngā pūkenga e angitu ai koe | What you'll need to succeed

• Ideally 10+ years’ procurement experience, including 5+ years in category management.
• Proven expertise across categories such as Subcontractors, Professional Services, IT/Telecommunications, and Test & Field Equipment.
• Strong commercial acumen and contract management skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle or similar) and sourcing tools.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• MCIPS qualification highly regarded.
