This organisation works across the Otago area, working with the environment and communities throughout the region. Due to internal movement, the fleet and facilities team are now looking for two Support Services Coordinators to join their team.
Tō tūranga hou | Your new role
Reports to: Team Leader Fleet and Facilities (temporary staff report to the hiring manager and are directed by team members for day-to-day functions)
This role provides high-quality administrative and technical support across fleet, facilities, and records/information management. It is customer-focused, ensuring a welcoming and responsive environment for internal stakeholders.
Two temporary positions are available starting November 2025, estimated to end in early April 2026:
- One backfill for a current position.
- One additional resource is to support housing projects and the transition to a new site.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for procurement, disposal, and maintenance of Council assets and fleet.
- Coordinate building and fleet maintenance, including contractor liaison and site inspections.
- Respond to internal queries and ensure timely resolution or escalation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process development.
- Ensure compliance with Council policies, health and safety standards, and procurement procedures.
- Assist with business-as-usual functions and housing-related tasks during the transition to the new site.
Ngā uara me ngā pūkenga e angitu ai koe | What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 3 years in administration, customer support, or logistics/operations coordination.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office and administrative systems.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Experience in fleet/facilities coordination and contractor management (desirable).
- Must hold a full or restricted driving licence and be trusted to drive fleet vehicles.
- Sufficient physical mobility to support building transition tasks such as: carrying boxes, lifting items into storage shelving, walking, and standing for extended periods

- Able to build effective relationships and maintain confidentiality.
- Committed to delivering high standards and continuous improvement.

- Hourly rate of $30–$34 per hour, depending on experience
