Solution Architect – Cloud & Integration | Wellington

About the role
You’ll lead solution architecture for complex cloud, hybrid and integration projects, primarily on Microsoft Azure. This role combines strategic advisory with hands-on design validation, pattern setting and mentoring. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure solutions meet regulatory, security and privacy requirements while enabling innovation and efficiency.
What you’ll do
Translate business, regulatory and security needs into reference architectures and actionable roadmaps.
Produce functional and non-functional designs aligned with best-practice frameworks and digital strategies.
Lead design reviews, risk assessments and assurance gates; resolve complex issues across identity, integration, data and security.
Coordinate vendors and internal teams to deliver end-to-end outcomes.
Coach architects and engineers; contribute reusable patterns and thought leadership to the architecture community.
What you’ll bring
Essential:
Over 5+ years’ architecture experience on Azure or hybrid platforms.
Proven success delivering solutions into complex public-sector environments.
Expertise in application integration, identity, API management, infrastructure-as-code and automated compliance testing.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills—able to brief executives and programme boards with ease.
Desirable:
Exposure to AWS, M365, Dynamics 365 or Power Platform.
TOGAF / SAFe certifications, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
Security or privacy-engineering certifications (CISSP, ISO 27001).
