Join a large, highly complex organisation undergoing a major modernisation of its voice, telephony, and collaboration platforms. You’ll be part of a specialist Communications team responsible for delivering resilient, mission‑critical voice solutions that enable operational and business functions nationwide.

As Principal Engineer – Voice Networks, you will lead solution design, technical direction, and architectural standards for enterprise‑wide voice and telephony systems. You’ll develop product roadmaps, define integration patterns, and ensure all voice platforms are reliable, scalable, and fit for purpose.

You will work closely with architecture, network operations, project teams, and external service providers to design and support a modern voice environment spanning dispatch, unified communications, telephony, and cloud contact centre technologies.

This role requires deep, hands‑on expertise in complex voice network environments and proven capability across:

Technical Expertise
  • Zetron ACOM Radio Console
  • Mitel MiCCe
  • MX‑One
  • Cisco CUCM
  • Cloud Contact Centre platforms
  • Strong knowledge of VoIP, SIP, call routing, SBCs, and resilient telephony architecture.
  • Experience with dispatch environments, especially those integrated with radio or emergency communications systems.
  • Designing and deploying voice solutions across on‑premise and cloud ecosystems.
  • Industry certifications in Mitel, Cisco, or cloud contact centre technologies (highly desirable).
  • 10+ years designing and implementing enterprise voice and unified communications solutions.
Leadership & Delivery
  • Ability to produce impact assessments, high‑level designs, options analysis, and architectural assurance.
  • Skilled at creating strategic architecture documentation, including roadmaps, integration models, and standards.
  • Confident communicator, capable of influencing stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams.
  • Collaborative team member who contributes to best practice, knowledge sharing, and mentoring.
