A highly respected national electrical engineering business with a strong pipeline of commercial, industrial and infrastructure work. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Bid Manager to take ownership of their end‑to‑end bidding function and drive the quality, consistency, and commercial strength of all submissions.

This is a key strategic role, well‑suited to someone who thrives working across technical, commercial and operational teams. Acting as the central point of coordination, the Bid Manager will be responsible for leading the entire bid lifecycle, ensuring all proposals are compliant, customer‑focused and commercially robust. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Bid Leadership: Leading the full bid lifecycle across, scoping opportunities, setting timelines, managing inputs, coordinating resources, ensuring compliance with tender instructions, client requirements, and internal governance
  • Commercial Strategy: Developing compelling win strategies backed by market insights and competitor analysis, supporting pricing development, risk management and value engineering options, maintaining visibility of the bid pipeline and prioritising high‑value opportunities, working closely with estimating, engineering, sales and project leaders, managing internal reviews and liaising with clients to clarify requirements and strengthen proposal responses
  • Quality & Submission Excellence: Producing clear, polished proposal content tailored to each opportunity, ensuring effective document control, version management, and submission accuracy, delivering progress updates, risks and recommendations to leadership teams
  • Continuous Improvement: Developing bid templates, guides, playbooks and process improvements, streamlining workflows and strengthening integration between estimating and engineering, capturing lessons learnt and embedding best practice across future bids

To succeed in this role, you will bring a blend of technical understanding, commercial judgement, and exceptional communication skills.
Looking for someone with:
  • Experience leading complex bids or proposals (construction, engineering or technical environments ideal)
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of pricing, assumptions and risk
  • Background in engineering, estimating or a technical field (EWRB or tertiary qualification advantageous)
  • High proficiency in Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Smartsheet, Excel, Word)
  • Experience with AutoCAD / PowerCAD beneficial
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, facilitate cross‑functional inputs and maintain momentum
  • Customer‑first mindset and collaborative working style
