Digital Content Specialist - 3 Month Contract - Auckland CBD

We’re working with a large, well‑known New Zealand organisation that is undergoing a major transformation of its digital ecosystem. As part of a fast‑paced website migration programme, they are looking to engage a contract Digital Content Specialist to support a critical piece of work for 3 months. This is a delivery‑focused contract role suited to experienced content professionals who thrive in complexity, enjoy working at pace, and are confident about making pragmatic decisions in evolving environments.

You’ll play a key role in improving the customer experience across a high‑traffic website, contributing to a large‑scale migration to a new architecture and content model. Working closely with content leads, designers, and subject matter experts, you’ll help review, redesign, and optimise digital content to ensure it is customer‑led, accessible, and fit for purpose.

Your duties will include:
  • Redesigning, remapping, and migrating content into a new information architecture and content model
  • Reviewing and improving content for accuracy, clarity, accessibility, SEO, and AI‑readiness
  • Translating complex information into clear, engaging, customer‑focused content
  • Analysing existing content to identify opportunities for CX optimisation
  • Partnering closely with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to validate and refine content
  • Recommending content for consolidation or retirement where appropriate
  • Applying brand, editorial, and accessibility standards consistently
  • Balancing customer needs with commercial, operational, and regulatory requirements

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring the following experience:
  • Strong experience designing, writing, editing, and publishing user‑centred digital content
  • Proven capability across content design, including UX writing, information architecture, user flows, and wireframing
  • Confidence working with complex content and implementing content strategies at pace
  • Excellent editorial judgement with the ability to make data‑informed trade‑offs
  • Experience using data and insights to improve content outcomes
  • Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with design systems, component libraries, and brand guidelines
  • Confluence and delivery tooling such as Azure DevOps
  • Content management systems (experience migrating between CMSs is highly desirable)
  • Design tools such as Figma, Photoshop
  • Analytics tools such as Google Analytics
