Role Purpose
The Solutions Architect – Core Platforms is responsible for ensuring the organisation's core finance and enterprise platforms operate effectively together, with a strong focus on financial integrity, internal controls, and data quality. This role provides functional and financial design oversight for system changes and integrations, ensuring solutions are cost‑effective, aligned to approved business cases, and compliant with finance, accounting, audit, and internal control requirements.
Acting as a key bridge between Finance, IT, Data, and the wider business, the role balances strong system governance with a practical, hands‑on delivery approach.
Core platforms include SAP ECC / S/4HANA, SAP BW, POS, WMS, EDI, OMS, CDC, ESL, and Marketplacer.

Key Responsibilities
Architecture & System Design
Act as the functional and financial design authority for core finance and enterprise systems.
Provide design oversight for system changes, integrations, and platform enhancements.
Ensure systems are designed to support efficient, scalable, and well‑governed business processes.
Financial Integrity & Controls
Own the financial design of system processes impacting the general ledger, sub‑ledgers, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
Ensure systems and integrations enable accurate, timely, and reconcilable financial reporting.
Embed accounting policy, audit, and internal‑control requirements into system design and delivery.
Govern system changes to minimise manual processing, duplication, and reconciliation risk.
Ensure support for capitalisation decisions, cost allocation, and balance sheet integrity.
Delivery & Continuous Improvement
Act as a key finance representative in major system initiatives, including ERP upgrades and new platform implementations.
Drive continuous improvement across the business through effective and disciplined system use.
Ensure all software development is appropriately designed, tested, and smoothly deployed into production.
Maintain commercially disciplined relationships with software vendors and support partners, aligned to budgets and business cases.
