• Lead a network transformation programme, including VLAN segmentation (20–25 VLANs per site) and BGP routing (FortiGate)
• Design, build, and support infrastructure across multiple sites
• Act as a Tier 3 escalation point across networking, infrastructure, and cyber incidents
• Own and enhance backup, disaster recovery, and resilience strategies
• Drive security best practices, including endpoint, identity, and infrastructure hardening
• Support a 24/7 operational environment, including seasonal peak periods and on-call

Ngā uara me ngā pūkenga e angitu ai koe | What you'll need to succeed

You’ll bring strong hands-on experience across a complex, on-prem infrastructure environment, with a particular strength in networking and security. As well as this, you'll need experience in:

• Proven experience working across enterprise on-prem environments
• Strong network engineering capability – VLAN segmentation, routing, firewalls, and multi-site design
• Experience with Fortinet (FortiGate, BGP) and Aruba (switching, wireless, Aruba Central)
• Solid exposure to security tooling and practices including endpoint protection (CrowdStrike), network security, and identity
• Strong experience across servers, storage, and virtualisation (HPE, SAN, VMware)
• Background in backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity
• Comfortable operating in a small, generalist team environment (no silos)

You will be working within a heavily on-prem, enterprise-scale environment where networking and security are critical:

• Networking: Fortinet (BGP, firewalls), VLAN-heavy segmented networks, Aruba switching & wireless
• Infrastructure: HPE servers, SAN storage, VMware, hybrid Azure AD
• Security: CrowdStrike, network security controls, identity and access focus
• Scale: Multi-site environment with significant uptime and operational demands
