Drilling Assistant - NZ FIFO (Entry Level)

We are looking for motivated workers who are interested in getting into the mining industry.
We’re on the lookout for Drilling Assistants to join our team across multiple mine sites in New Zealand. This is a great chance to get hands-on experience, build valuable skills, and start a rewarding career in mining. You’ll work a 2 weeks on, 1 week off roster, and all travel, food, and accommodation are provided.

    Your new role

  • Assist the driller with rods
  • Help set up, dismantle, and move drill rigs
  • Remove and clean core samples
  • Present core samples
  • Assist with daily pre-starts
  • Monitor and maintain fuel and oil levels
  • Carry out routine maintenance on rigs
  • Clean drill rigs, vehicles, equipment, and tools
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers

What you'll need to succeed

  • Full driver’s licence and able to drive a manual
  • NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident (no work visas)
  • Previous trades experience
  • Clean criminal history check
  • Strong health & safety focus
  • Willing to work away from home for up to 2 weeks at a time
  • Able to lift over 23kg
  • Open to day or night shift work
