Tō tūranga hou | Your new role
As the Enterprise Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role building market presence and driving new enterprise opportunities, with a strong focus on storage solutions. This is a true hunter role, requiring a commercially savvy and well-connected individual who can open doors, influence stakeholders, and convert relationships into revenue.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and executing a targeted go-to-market strategy across enterprise storage solutions
- Building and leveraging relationships across enterprise clients, resellers, and distributors to generate new opportunities
- Driving the full sales life-cycle, from opportunity identification through to negotiation and close
- Engaging the market and building trust with key partners and customers
- Working closely with internal technical and pre-sales teams to shape tailored solutions for complex enterprise environments
- Acting as a market expert, providing insight on competitors, pricing, and customer needs
This role goes beyond traditional business development and requires someone who can navigate a relationship-driven market, influence senior stakeholders, and create genuine traction from accounts.
Ngā uara me ngā pūkenga e angitu ai koe | What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will bring a strong mix of commercial drive, market credibility, and technical understanding within enterprise IT.
You will ideally have:
Proven experience in business development or sales within the New Zealand IT industry, ideally in storage or infrastructure solutions
Strong understanding of enterprise storage technologies (e.g. SAN, NAS, All-Flash)
Established relationships across enterprise clients, channel partners, and distributors
Deep knowledge of the NZ channel ecosystem, including distributors and resellers
A track record of exceeding sales targets and delivering tangible results
The ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders (e.g. CIOs, CTOs, IT leaders)
Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills
While technical support is available internally, your ability to translate solutions into business value and build trust quickly will be critical.
Mandarin language capability is advantageous but not essential. External communication and credibility in the NZ market is the priority.
