Excavator Operator

About Us: Hays is working with a well-established earthmoving and construction company operating in the Wellington region. They specialise in excavation, site preparation, and civil works. As they expand our team, they are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join them.

Role Overview: As an Excavator Operator, you will be a key player in our projects. Your primary responsibility will be operating excavators and other heavy machinery to perform tasks such as digging, trenching, and material handling. Safety, precision, and efficiency are paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate excavators ranging from 1.6 tons to 37 tons.
• Perform excavation, grading, and earthmoving tasks as per project requirements.
• Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an excavator operator.
• Valid New Zealand driver’s license.
• Competency in operating various excavator models.
• Knowledge of trenching, backfilling, and earthmoving techniques.
• Strong communication skills.
• Reliable and punctual.
