Hays are partnering with a well-established building maintenance company with over 30 years of experience working with large government agencies. They deliver comprehensive asset and facilities maintenance services across a wide range of property types.
Tō tūranga hou | Your new role
This is a dynamic position split between 75% office-based and 25% site-based work, ideal for someone who thrives in both environments. You’ll play a key role in supporting health and safety compliance, training, documentation, and continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and maintain records for training requirements; facilitate sessions where appropriate
- Assist with business accreditations (e.g. SiteWise, Totika)
- Conduct site audits to ensure safe practices are followed
- Manage PPE distribution and ensure equipment is fit for purpose
- Deliver H&S inductions and ongoing training
- Administer H&S documentation (SWMS, SSSPs, Take 5s, Pre-Starts)
- General H&S admin: data entry, document control, spreadsheeting, record management
- Incident reporting and investigation support, health monitoring, and risk assessments
- Manage subcontractor prequalification processes

- Strong health and safety administration or coordination background of at least 1–2 years
- Knowledge of H&S inductions, documentation, reporting, site audits and general H&S administration is essential.
- Friendly, approachable, and proactive
- A strong communicator across all levels of stakeholders
- Adaptable and agile, with a willingness to learn and grow
- Passionate about health and safety and continuous improvement
- Resilient and collaborative, with a positive attitude
