A fantastic opportunity has opened for an experienced Health, Safety & Wellbeing leader with one of our key clients based in South Auckland. This role drives strategic and operational safety outcomes across a large, fast‑paced national operation. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on influencing senior leaders, developing high‑performing teams, and embedding practical, people‑focused safety initiatives.
Tō tūranga hou | Your new role
You will lead a team of Safety, Health & Wellbeing Specialists while playing a key role in shaping and delivering the organisation’s HSW strategy. This includes strengthening critical risk management, improving safety systems, and supporting operational leaders to create safer, healthier and more engaged workplaces.
- Drive continuous improvement in critical risk management, manual handling, injury prevention, and safety culture.
- Partner with senior operational leaders to embed safe behaviours and strengthen risk controls.
- Monitor compliance with legislative requirements and internal standards.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Provide insights and reporting on safety performance, trends and emerging risks
Ngā uara me ngā pūkenga e angitu ai koe | What you'll need to succeed
You will bring a strong background in health, safety and wellbeing, ideally with experience across multi‑site or high‑risk operational environments. You are confident influencing at all levels and enjoy coaching others to lift capability.
- 10+ years’ experience in Health, Safety & Wellbeing leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and practical application in operational settings.
- Experience with critical risk management, manual handling, contractor management, and assurance processes.
- Proven ability to lead teams, develop capability and drive engagement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in logistics is preferred but not essential
