About this work area

As an IKEA Food Co-worker, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining a clean, organised and inviting area to support food standards and enhance the customer experience
  • Supporting food preparation and customer service with attention to food safety, waste control and production levels
  • Carrying out physical tasks such as clearing tables, assisting in the dishroom, wiping benchtops and assisting with stocktake
  • Contributing to active selling, cash handling and customer interactions in a fast-paced environment
  • Creating a welcoming atmosphere through heartfelt customer service and attentiveness to customer needs
  • Thriving in a team culture built on IKEA values
  • Being open to new experiences, with a focus on learning and growing in the role


What you need to know

  • The work location for this role is our Sylvia Park store, Auckland. However, as you will be starting before the store opens, you may also work from our temporary office near Sylvia Park or our Warehouse in Māngere.
  • We are recruiting for several permanent Full-Time positions – 80 hours per fortnight.
  • The internal title for this role is IKEA Co-worker.
  • The expected start date for these positions is 05/10/25.
  • We’re also preparing for another recruitment intake for Part-Time roles. This opportunity will be advertised in August, so we encourage you to stay connected and keep an eye out.
  • The first step of the recruitment process will be an application form. If you are successful to the next step, you will be notified via email and invited to complete an online test and even a video interview.
  • As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts based on trading hours. You also must have the availability to work weekends.

  • Car parking will not be provided and therefore IKEA encourages all Co-workers to utilise public transport wherever possible.
