Hays are hiring two IT Support Engineers to join a major Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrade project for a well-known Hamilton‑based organisation. This hands-on role is ideal for early‑career IT professionals looking to build practical experience while working under the guidance of a senior engineer.

Tō tūranga hou | Your new role

You will play a key part in supporting the successful rollout of Windows 11 across end-user devices. This position involves a mix of technical support, device preparation, troubleshooting, and ensuring users experience minimal disruption throughout the upgrade. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with upgrading end-user devices from Windows 10 to Windows 11
  • Complete device checks, deployments, and basic technical troubleshooting
  • Provide user support throughout and after the upgrade process
  • Escalate technical issues to the senior engineer when required
  • Ensure minimal disruption and a smooth transition for business users

  • 1–3 years experience in IT Support, Desktop Support, or a similar field
  • Hands-on experience with Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrades or similar OS rollout projects
  • Strong knowledge of Windows environments and end‑user support
  • Confident communicator with a strong customer-service mindset
  • Able to work onsite in Hamilton for the duration of the project
