Plumber - ANTARCTICA

We have a very COOL opportunity available for an experienced Plumber in Antarctica!
Hays Recruitment is seeking expressions of interest from a Qualified Plumber and an Apprentice Plumber for an assignment at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. This unique opportunity involves working in one of the most remote and challenging environments on Earth.

Location: McMurdo Station, Antarctica (approximately 1000 residents in summer season)
Rate: $45 per hour (WAGES) $55 per hour (CONTRACTING)
Two intakes available – choose one or stay for both:
  • Intake 1: October 2025 – Feb 2026
  • Intake 2: Feb 2026 – October 2026
You should have:
  • Unrestricted NZ Work Rights (no sponsorship or visa variations provided)
  • Proven experience and references working as a plumber
  • NZ Certificate in Plumbing (Level 4) OR Overseas Equivalent

What to expect when you’re down there:
  • Accommodation provided (you will be in a shared room)
  • Free food

  • Work schedule: Mon – Sat, 7am – 5pm
