Tō tūranga hou | Your new role
This Practice Manager role leads the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring people, systems, workflows, finance, marketing activity, and studio environments run smoothly. You will bring structure, communication, and consistency across both offices, while also stepping into the strategic space and helping the Directors strengthen how the practice functions as it grows.
The role can be based in either the Auckland or Whanganui studio.
Key responsibilities:
Manage daily operations, workflow visibility, and coordination across both studios
Review existing systems, identify improvements, and implement better ways of working
Support HR processes including documentation, reviews, recruitment, and onboarding
Oversee office operations, facilities, H&S, IT liaison, and workspace readiness
Lead marketing coordination: website updates, social media support, collateral, and campaign activity
Maintain oversight of finance administration including invoicing, AP/AR tracking, payroll approvals, and month-end processes
Support forecasting, fee tracking, and commercial consistency at an operational level
Partner with Directors to support planning, communication, and delivery of practice-wide priorities
Connect regularly with staff and leadership across both studios, including occasional face‑to‑face visits when helpful

Operational management experience in an architecture, engineering, planning, or construction environment
Confident communicator who builds trust and can hold clear, constructive conversations
Strong finance administration ability with attention to accuracy and timeliness
Highly organised, proactive, and solution-focused, with strong follow-through
HR coordination experience and comfort supporting people processes
Interest in marketing and contributing to practice profile-building activities

36-hour work week with a 12:30pm Friday finish
1.5 WFH days per week for Auckland-based employees (Tuesday and Friday)
