• Lead complex, multi-team initiatives spanning data platform and data product environments.
• Develop and enhance cloud-native data products using modern Azure technologies.
• Provide expert technical leadership across data engineering, cloud architecture, and platform development.
• Mentor and coach engineers to uplift capability across data, platform, and product teams.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, cloud engineers, and external partners to ensure cohesive, system-first solutions.
• Shape and contribute to the data platform roadmap, engineering standards, and best practices.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure data solutions are secure, scalable, fit-for-purpose, and aligned with organisational priorities.
• Bring thought leadership to senior stakeholders, contributing to strategic planning and technical direction.

Ngā uara me ngā pūkenga e angitu ai koe | What you'll need to succeed

• 12+ years’ senior-level experience in data engineering, cloud platforms, or data architecture.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Azure Databricks, Python, Spark, Delta Lake, and broader Azure data services (Data Lake, Synapse, Event Hubs, Key Vault, etc.).
• Proven experience designing and building secure, scalable cloud-native data pipelines using both batch and streaming patterns.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, IaC, and tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, Terraform, ARM/Bicep.
• Experience in data modelling, metadata management, and implementing governance frameworks (e.g., Unity Catalog or similar).
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and business audiences.
