Purpose of the Role:
To deliver high-quality financial accounting and management reporting services that support organisational strategies. The role ensures timely, accurate financial information is provided to internal and external stakeholders, supporting financial sustainability and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnering:
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to support strategic initiatives.
- Assist with risk management and financial modelling.
- Respond to budget and funding queries.
- Identify and communicate financial risks.
Compliance Accounting:
- Lead internal and external audit processes.
- Prepare technical accounting documentation and statutory financial statements.
- Manage tax compliance (e.g., GST, income tax).
Finance Systems:
- Maintain financial ledgers and drive process improvements.
- Support system enhancements across finance operations.
Financial & Management Reporting:
- Assist in budget preparation and forecasting.
- Analyse key cost areas and prepare monthly reports.
- Conduct stakeholder meetings to review financial performance.
- Provide guidance on accounting procedures.
Staff Management:
- Supervise accounts payable, payroll, and accounting staff.
- Conduct performance reviews and manage team operations.
Required Skills & Experience:
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 5+ years in a similar accounting role, preferably in a CA firm.
- Experience with statutory financial reporting and PBE IPSAS / NZ GAAP.
- Familiarity with multi-entity organizations and accounting systems like Finance One and Xero.
- Healthcare sector experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor junior staff.

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office 365.
- Effective time management and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable using video conferencing tools.
