Due to ongoing demand, they are seeking additional support in their Palmerston North warehouse.
Your new role
An opportunity has arisen for a reliable and hands-on Band Saw Operator / Storeperson to join a busy and fast-paced warehouse team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
This role is Monday to Friday, with working hours between 6:00am and 5:00pm, depending on operational requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating band saws to cut steel to precise specifications
- Safely moving materials using forklifts and cranes
- Picking, packing, and preparing customer orders
- Completing receipting and dispatch documentation
- Conducting quality checks on dimensions, quantities, and product condition
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment
What you’ll need to succeed
- Proven experience operating band saws or metal cutting equipment (essential)
- Experience working with steel or stainless steel products
- Strong warehouse experience in picking, packing, dispatch, and receipting
- Ability to read and interpret cutting lists, job sheets, and measurements accurately
- A current forklift licence (F endorsement highly preferred)
- Experience with overhead/gantry cranes (advantageous)
- Basic computer skills for stock systems and documentation
- A proactive attitude and commitment to health and safety
