Storeman Wanted for Upper Hutt Prison

We are seeking a reliable and motivated storeman to join our team at Upper Hutt prison, one of New Zealand’s largest correctional facilities. As a storeman, you will be responsible for helping with stock take, receiving and dispatching goods, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. You will work closely with other staff members and inmates to ensure the smooth operation of the prison.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• A valid driver’s license and reliable transport. You will be required to drive a forklift and other vehicles within the prison premises.
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail. You will be handling sensitive and valuable items such as medication, equipment, and clothing.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills. You will be interacting with various stakeholders such as suppliers, managers, staff, and inmates.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be expected to follow instructions and procedures but also use your initiative and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where priorities can change quickly.

You will work from Monday to Friday from 5 am to 2 pm with a competitive pay rate of $25 per hour. We are looking for someone who can start quickly as we aim to fill this position as soon as possible.
