Yard/Branch Manager

If you are an experienced Yard or Operations Manager, look no further!

A long‑established New Zealand scrap metal recycling business is seeking a motivated and capable person to manage and grow its Whakatāne yard. This is a small site with significant potential, and we’re looking for someone who can take ownership, lead a team, and build strong supplier relationships. You will work closely with a regional manager to oversee daily operations and support ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team leadership — Oversee and support a small on‑site team
  • Scrap buying & processing — Participate in hands‑on yard operations as required
  • Supplier relationship management — Develop new supplier connections and strengthen existing ones
  • Stock coordination — Arrange regular stock transfers to other regional sites

What We Are Looking For

  • Staff management experience
  • Relationship‑building ability with new and existing suppliers
  • Inventory or stock experience
  • Management or supervisory experience
  • H&S experience and understanding
  • Experience with toolboxes
  • Commercially savvy with great computer skills
